Crash Sites from around the World
Mr. James Lumley, an old Rocky Mountain trapper, who has been stopping at the Everett House for several days, makes a most remarkable statement to us, and one, which if authenticated, will produce the greatest excitement in the scientific world.
Mr. Lumley states that about the middle of last September, he was engaged in trapping in the mountains, about seventy-five or one hundred miles above the great falls of the Upper Missouri, and in the neighborhood of what is known as Cadotte Pass. Just after sunset one evening he beheld a bright, luminous body in the heavens, which was moving with a great rapidity in an easterly direction. It was plainly visible for at least five seconds, when it suddenly separated into particles, resembling, as Mr. Lumley described it, the bursting of a skyrocket in the air. A few minutes later he heard a heavy explosion, which jarred the earth very preceptibly, and this was shortly after followed by a rumbling sound, like a tornado sweeping through the forest. A strong wind sprang up about the same time, but as suddenly subsided. The air was also filled with a peculiar odor of a sulphurous character.
These incidents would have made but slight impression on the mind of Mr. Lumley, but for the fact that on the ensuing day he discovered, at a distance of about two miles from his camping place, that, as far as he could see in either direction, a path had been cut through the forest, several rods wide - giant trees uprooted or broken off near the ground - the tops of hills shaved off, and the earth plowed up in many places. Great and wide-spread havoc was every-where visible. Following up this track of desolation, he soon ascertained the cause of it in the shape of an immense stone that had been driven into the side of a mountain. But now comes the most remarkable part of the story. An examination of this stone, or so much of it as was visible, showed that it had been divided into compartments, and that, in various places, it was carved with curious hieroglyphics. More than this, Mr. Lumley also discovered fragments of a substance resembling glass, and here and there dark stains, as though caused by a liquid. He is confident that the hieroglyphics were the work of human hands, and that the stone itself, although but a fragment of an immense body, must have been used for some purpose by animated beings.
Strange as this story appears, Mr. Lumley relates it with so much sincerity that we are forced to accept it as true. It was evident that the stone which he discovered was a fragment of the meteor which was visible in this section in September last. It will be remembered that it was seen in Leavenworth, in Galena, and in this city by Colonel Bonneville. At Leavenworth, it was seen to separate in particles or explode.
1884 - UFO CRASHES IN NEBRASKA
In early June of 1984, Holdredge's weekly newspaper, The Nebraska Nugget, on June 6, publishes a story that had occurred to some cowboys from Dundy County.
A terrifying noise in the sky drew their attention to a bright object diving towards the ground before it crashed, out of sight from where the cowboys were. They had then rushed over to it and discovered numerous burning hot "machinery parts" spread out all along a track left by the mysterious flying object. The heat was so unbearable that one of the witnesses, Alf Williamson, had even fainted. At one point of the track, the sand had melted over a surface area of about 6x22yards.
The next morning, a group goes back to the site. Certain pieces are now cool enough to get close to. According to The Nebraska Nugget, the metal they are made up of resembles copper but is extremely light and resistant. As for the spaceship, of cylindrical form, the men estimate its length to be about twenty meters long by about 3.5 yards wide. It is in Lincoln's Daily State Journal of June 8 that an machine of extra-terrestial origin is seen for the first time.
"Unless the facts put forward are greatly exagerated or misrepresented, this amazing strange object must be a spaceship which comes from another a planet and had gotten too far away from it and so wandered throughout space before being pulled in by Earth's gravitation and crashing into the ground."
However, two days later, the same newspapaer publishes another article which puts an end to the hopes of the amateurs in mystery : under a sudden and driving rain, the object's diverse elements having survived the crash, had literally dissolved in the presence of a dozen of witnesses, kind of like a spoon of salt in water...
Forgotten about afterwards, the story is rediscovered by accident in 1964. However, various investigations do not manage to find, among the region's oldest inhabitants, someone who remembers what happened or had simply heard about it when he was young. Therefore, we will probably never know if this story has an element of truth (a manipulation of the UFO phenomenon like the one that is going to take place on a very large scale in the US in 1896/97) or if it was made up on a boring day at the office of a local newspaper.
Nevertheless, two points must be insisted on, in case the story would be more or less true : the "spaceship" was of rather modest size and its "dissolving" could be compared, in proportions a thousand times smaller, to the complete disappearance of debris left by the one that struck down in Siberia in 1908.
On December 13, 1884 a shining body came down from the sky crashing onto a field in Sorisole, near Bergamo.
Aurora
On of the strangest cases involving alleged crashed UFOs, occurred nearly 100 years ago in the town of Aurora, Texas. Many people believe this to be one of many hoaxes started around this time. The year was 1897 during which the U.S. was besotted with hundreds of sightings of strange airships. The story first appeared on 19th April 1897, and claimed that a strange airship had appeared over the town of Aurora. The craft then apparently crashed into a windmill tower and exploded. Some of the material recovered had strange hieroglyphic symbols on it. Also amongst the wreckage was that of an 'alien' lifeform which the townsfolk buried in the local cemetery. Several UFO researchers have tried to uncover some supportive documentation with vary success. A few witnesses were still around when the incident was investigated around 1966 - 1977 and some of these gave evidence stating that the story was essentially true. However, most of the evidence uncovered by researchers indicates that the story is nothing more than an elaborate hoax used to drum up interest in the town. In fact researchers discovered that no windmill had been at the site in question and that the site was owned by the local mayor.
Although most researchers regard this as a hoax, there are still some who pursue the case. In fact, several years ago they tried to get the grave where the alien is supposedly buried exhumed. The request was denied my the local council.
Tunguska
At 7.00am on 30th June 1908 near the lower Tunguska River, Siberia, a large explosion occurred. The explosion was so massive that it caused damage 400 miles away, and was heard even further. Even the heat that came out from the explosion was felt hundreds of miles away. For several nights all over northern Europe, the sky glowed enough to light the street of London. At first it was assumed that a massive meteorite had collided with the earth.
Given the remoteness of the area it was not until 1927 that an expedition was mounted to investigate the crash area. The expedition could not locate any bits of meteorite which puzzled them due the size that the meteorite would have to have been to create such a large explosion.
Another puzzle for the expedition was the way the tress were felled in an outward motion and that in the centre an area of trees were still standing, although all their bark and branches have been destroyed. After the Second World War and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, photos of the cities were compared with aerial photos of the Tunguska blast, and they were stunning similar. As a result of this various scientists speculated that a nuclear explosion had taken place over the area, hence explaining the tree formation, and because no nation possessed nuclear device the logical conclusion was that it was from an exploding alien nuclear powered craft.
Other theories started to be banded around ranging from pinpoint black holes, and antimatter particles. Many of the witnesses to the original crash spoke of seeing and oval-shaped mass moving across the sky, as well as seeing the object change course, and of having a very low speed.
Most people today believe that what hit Tunguska was simply a meteorite, but the alien craft theory still has a lot of credibility. As with most of these cases that occurred long ago, we shall probably never know for sure.
Dec. 22, 1909 - Chicago
Six years after Kitty Hawk, newspapers from New York to Chicago were astounded by national reports of a huge airship flying across the nation and seen by thousands. It crashed west of Chicago, but was never found. The story was front-page news in the nation's major newspapers.

1947 4 July Roswell, NM
Plains of San Agustin July 5, 1947
The Roswell incident seemed just to involve debris from a craft of some sort, as no main part of the craft/bodies could be found on the Brazel ranch. This led to speculation that the main part of the craft had managed to travel on before coming to rest. The Plains of San Agustin crash became one of the main candidates for this location. The craft came down in an area west of Socorro, New Mexico, known as the Plains of San Agustin, where witnesses discovered a strange metallic object but also dead bodies. The first witness on the scene was Grady 'Barney' Barnett, who told some friends that in early July 1947 he had encountered a metallic, disc-shaped 'aircraft' about 25-30 feet in diameter. While he was examining it a small group of people arrived, who said that they were from an archaeological research team from the University of Pennsylvania. Barnet apparently stated the following to his friends.
"I noticed that they were standing around looking at some dead bodies that had fallen to the ground. I think there were others in the machine, which was kind of metallic...disc. It was not all that big. It seemed to be made of a metal that looked like dirty stainless steel. The machine had been split open by explosion or impact.
I tried to get close to see what the bodies were like. They were all dead as far as I could see and there were bodies inside and outside the vehicle. The ones outside had been tossed out by the the impact. They were like humans but they were not human. The heads were round, the eyes were small, and they had no hair. The eyes were oddly spaced. They were quite small by our standards and their heads were larger in proportion to their bodies than ours. Their clothing seemed to be one-piece and grey in colour. You couldn't see any zippers, belts or buttons. They seemed to me to be males and there were a number of them. I was close enough to touch them but I didn't - I was escorted away before I could. While we were looking at them a military officer drove up in a truck with a driver and took control. He told everybody that the Army was taking over and to get out of the way. Other military personnel came up and cordoned off the area. We were told to leave the area and not to talk to anyone whatever about what we had seen...that it was our patriotic duty to remain silent".
Unfortunately Barnett died before any UFO researcher could interview him. He was described as a very respectable and honest citizen by family and friends. However, a new informant called Gerald Anderson came forward in 1990 which backed up the Barnett story. However thanks to some excellent research done by Kevin Randle and others the Anderson story was shown to be a hoax. Also Randle tracked down all students of Universities that were in the area at the time and none of them knew anything about the alleged crash.
Again this case appears nothing more than a hoax until further evidence is presented to say otherwise.
American Computer Company continues its investigations: Could ALIEN "TRANSCAPACITORS" and "TRANSISTORS" have been used to build Computers which Think? Were Alien Ships guided by "Thought Control"?? special to accpc.com written by Mark J. Pine, Oswenio J. O'Dunlap, Nick Caisson and John A.E. Cestaberlioz
WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT.
50 years ago, the US Department of the Army and its budding US Air Force had a run-in with SOMETHING in the desert, something which shook the Army up so badly, that even to this day they deny it ever happened. Personnel with "radiation burns" were redirected to the Army's Nuclear Proving Grounds in the deserts of Nevada, where they were treated for exposure to this SOMETHING. Personnel who were so badly burned they were nearly unrecognizable, were "cremated" and their remains replaced with suitable human bones that were not radioactive, and delivered to loved ones, explained away as a "training mission crash".
The Transfer Capacitor as was suggested by documents of the era, operates differently than any prior electronic device seen by American Computer Company. It not only appears to respond to minute electromagnetic signals, it has a variable functioning that appears to respond "interactively" among arrays of transcapacitors, as if they were capable of communicating with each other. It is being closely studied at this time.
Thought of initially as a "storage device" that could replace hard disk drives with solid state storage, the Transcap looks more appealing as a "storage and interconnect neural network" for use with extremely massive parallel computer architectures, made very, very small. There is reason to believe that drawings not in the possession of Bell Labs or American Computer, may describe, in detail, a machine capable of thought and response, decision making and control, using arrays of Transcap "Neural Nets" to connect thousands of microprocessors into a "thinking machine".
Accidental security leaks from the Roswell, New Mexico Air Force Base and from White Sands, led to Press getting wind of the run-in. But were these "Accidental"? Witnesses to what may have been a ground based encounter with SOMETHING that led to the death and irradiation of several dozen Soldiers, may have been reason enough to leak "little green men" stories and "flying saucer" details, followed by the 50 year disinformation cover up.
What happened that so badly frightened the Army, that it needed to "test the waters" and "stir the pot" of disinformation for more than 50 years? Does the Army fear "infiltration" by the "SOMETHING" so badly, that it maintains surveillance on American Society even to this day, using various "in betweeners" who watch for anything out of the ordinary on the Internet, Radio, TV, Film, and everywhere else, investigate it and even, meddle with it? Why is the Army and Air Force, and why IBM and AT&T/Bell Labs so sensitive to even people "believing" that a technology transfer took place?
Are "alien abductee" stories being spread to encourage any actual "abductees" to come forward, so that any effort to infiltrate our Society is stemmed at its outset? Did the Army fear actual alien abduction so much, that they have actually paid people to plant abduction stories intended to both allay public concern AND give access to any abductees for scrutiny? Did the Army suspect Alien Observers "Tagged" American's and equipped them with tiny Radio Transmitters, like human naturalists might tag a rare species?
At the time developing advanced long range communications towers and piloting systems for the X-1 and the long range ICBM's being reverse engineered from the plans for the Nazi V-10 "Manhattan Special" at White Sands and Albuquerque, Bell Laboratories held "Senior Scientific Advisor" status to the remnants of the Nuclear Bomb project (itself called "Manhattan") that had survived the end of war in the Pacific, and were working feverishly to mate small, high explosive nuclear warheads to rocket and jet powered missiles capable of advanced delivery of nuclear weaponry to a predicted confrontation with Joseph Stalin and the Red Army. Stalin's eyes were on the weak western Europe being reconstructed by the Army Railroad and Industrial Corps, and it was thought he might invade, requiring the threat of "nuclear holocaust" over the Eastern Front to keep him in check.
It was only natural that Scientists of the revered Bell Laboratories and Bell Aerospace would become entangled in evaluation of the "SOMETHING" that casually or not so casually landed and/or crashed in the New Mexico desert...
In the early morning hours of July 2, 1947, New Mexico based Army Radar Technician (Lamont Cranston - name changed) noticed what appeared to be a "squadron of air ships" flying in a westerly direction very leisurely in the general direction of White Sands, about 180 miles distant, bogeys on his console that appeared rather substantial. He contacted his immediate supervisor on the "com" who told him to log the sighting and contact Army Traffic Control Center by telephone and find out who was overflying his outpost. Suddenly, the squadron broke apart and, according to the Radar, moved at a radar-clocked rate of approximately 900 miles per hour, half of it "straight up", the other half broke into two segments reducing altitude and buzzing his radar installation, the other half reformed and headed off in the general direction of Corona, N.M. Cranston tried contacting the flight using several standard Army frequencies, when suddenly, both the Radar and his radio ceased functioning. His report was logged and forwarded to the Army Maintenance Division as an "unexplained power outage".
An Army surface team was training in the New Mexico desert that morning, a "materials retrieval" training course out of Roswell, designed to teach them how to deal with a nuclear emergency. The course was led and designed by Army Training Captain (Boyd Howell - name changed) who was with the team on a bluff in the vicinity of several ranches, when several loud booms startled him. He and his team turned just in time to witness what looked like pieces of a missile or aircraft falling from the sky about a half mile from their location. In no time, the team was "up and at em", piercing through the desert to help fallen comrades.
Covering the ground in only a few minutes, the team's Geiger Counter began to kick up, and Howell decided they had better change course. Stopping at a ranch on whose property could be seen large pieces of debris, from an overlook, the team set up camp and radioed for help.
"Code 6" came back the response. A Code 6 was a nuclear materials handling code that indicated that the training team was to stay put and not approach the crash site. Also back from "HQ" was the message "We've had another unknown which has landed 18 miles due north by northwest of your present location. Hold position and do not engage, repeat, hold position and do not engage."
These prophetic words began what has turned into an international mystery, what crashed and landed in the desert that July 2nd, with repeated landings and liftoffs observed by the Department of the Army's crack "nuclear handling" squads on training maneuvers secretly in the desert those days. Did the Department of the Army create a "cold war" subterfuge to hide its capture of one of the Landing Craft of a squad of Alien observers watching Humanity's quest to build air borne nuclear weapons and faster than sound rocket powered flying machines, months before the maiden voyage of General Chuck Yaeger and the Bell Aerospace X-1?
Bell Labs scientists were called to task by the Army to help decipher markings and examine debris on the crashed vehicle and examine the one abandoned by its occupants during the ensuing "battle in the New Mexico desert". Was it "Russian"? Had the Russians captured flying ships built in the last days of Nazi Germany with capabilities heretofore thought impossible? Flying machines with death rays, emitting radiation... had the Nazis simply lacked the time to build sufficient numbers? Had Stalin impressed such machines into service that, built in sufficient number, could overrun American shores, leaving the US with no defenses?
It became imperative to Army intelligence to spread leaks and rumors, stirring the pot of International Press, all to the end of observing movements in the Stalin camp that could confirm or deny the origins of these remarkably advanced flying machines... It also became imperative that, if these were "from another Planet", to determine if the race in question were already "in league with Stalin" and helping the Soviets arm themselves.
In the meanwhile, both sets of debris and lander were enroute to Fort Worth, Texas, to be trans-shipped to advanced research centers at Langley Air Force Base, at Fort Meade, Md, and to an advanced research center maintained by Bell in central New Jersey.
Efforts to open and turn off the intact ship's electronics had already cost more than one Technician his mobility. Energy of unknown origins emitted from the machine whenever it was handled, and special suits of metal foil had to be warn to ground technicians, or unknown paralysis could arise. The machine appeared to possess a life of its own, responding to opening of hatches by closing them in turn. Manipulation of control indentations resulted in the projection of "living maps" in empty space, and changes in lighting and heat produced within it.
Theorists at Bell suggested that perhaps the craft had an "electronic brain", one capable of independent thought. It's control surfaces appeared to respond to minute electrical charges. And, the electronic circuitry found among the debris were so advanced that even Bell's most advanced scientists had no idea what they did.
Drawings from the era are nearly extant. During the Viet Nam war, one president's paranoia about efforts to attach him to the murder of President Kennedy by KGB who had implemented Kennedy's assassination to create global nuclear confrontation (circumvented by the CIA, working with military Intelligence and National Security coordinators, to quell the anticipated public fervor for all out nuclear bombardment of a Supreme Soviet so arrogant that murdering an American President was not beyond them), caused a widespread effort to destroy documents and hide events surrounding the matter. Debris and the allegedly still operating Lander, having been blueprinted and disseminated to various commercial research establishments for technology transfer, were encased and vaulted. The historical events were permanently hidden by executive order, so that no future President or Chiefs of Staff could unearth them, unless in time of "special war".
